Packers Preseason Opener: Love Shines, Packers Dominate Browns

August 10, 2024 - 4:11 PM PDT

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Jordan Love made the most of his limited playing time on Saturday, leading the Green Bay Packers to a 23-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns in the preseason opener.

Packers Control the Game

The Packers controlled most of the action from the start, outgaining the Browns in total offense 373-183. Love was particularly impressive, completing 6 of 10 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown, including a 65-yard bomb to Sammy Watkins.

The Packers' defense was also solid, holding the Browns to just 10 points and forcing four turnovers.

Browns Struggle

The Browns struggled to get anything going offensively, and rookie quarterback Aidan Robbins threw two interceptions.

The only bright spot for the Browns was running back Nick Chubb, who rushed for 65 yards on 15 carries.

Takeaways

The Packers' impressive performance in the preseason opener is a good sign for the upcoming season. Love looks ready to take the next step as a quarterback, and the Packers' defense appears to be strong.

The Browns, on the other hand, have some work to do before the regular season begins. Their offense needs to be more consistent, and their defense needs to improve.
