Carrying Capacity 5e Small

WEB Carrying Capacity in D&D 5e

For Small or Medium Creatures

Small and Medium creatures have a carrying capacity that is equal to 15 times their Strength score. This is the amount of weight in pounds that they can carry without becoming encumbered. Dragging or pushing weight in excess of your carrying capacity reduces your speed to 5 feet.

For Creatures Larger Than Medium

For each size category above Medium, a creature's carrying capacity is doubled. So, for example, a Large creature has a carrying capacity of 30 times its Strength score, and a Huge creature has a carrying capacity of 60 times its Strength score.

For Tiny Creatures

Tiny creatures have a carrying capacity that is halved. So, for example, a Tiny creature has a carrying capacity of 7.5 times its Strength score.

Example

A Small creature with a Strength score of 10 has a carrying capacity of 150 pounds. This creature could carry a backpack weighing 50 pounds and a sword weighing 20 pounds without becoming encumbered. However, if the creature tried to carry a shield weighing 30 pounds, it would become encumbered.
